Bespoke Offers and culinary surrealists Bompas and Parr, the duo who constructed St Paul’s out of jelly, cooked with lava and made a gin and tonic cloud, cordially invite you to spend 24 hours with them eating 200 courses.
Yes, 200 courses.
Eight chefs will create the world’s largest tasting menu: 200 separate courses within 10 meals, each consisting of 20 tasting plates, all served at a 24 hour dinner party. No sleeping, no resting. Just eating and experiencing the ultimate feast in Bompas and Parr’s inimitable maverick style.
Eating through an ambitious rainbow of monochromatic meals at The Factory in Bermondsey, London, guests are told to expect the experience to be tactile, surprising and intriguing as they are presented with plate after plate of bite-sized wonder.
This will be no ordinary day and these will be no ordinary meals. The event will open with a Yellow Breakfast tipped as a culinary explosion that will hybridize flavours of the East and West. Food meets art as the clock ticks through a bejeweled and sparkling ‘White Elevenses’, past plates of the Blue Afternoon Snack – an otherworldly array of naturally tinted roots.
The hours count down in a swirl of colour with an eye-popping fuchsia Pink Dinner and Brown Blackout which promises an indulgent meal of carnal urges. The 24 hour experience will culminate with a Multicolour Final Countdown – a communal carousel of global-inspired street food.
Expect fluorescent jellies, a haze of wood smoke, contradicting textures and a night like no other. Then expect the unexpected.
This is seriously my kind of event. I like my art avant-garde. I like immersive surreal theatre. I like my books steeped with intrigue, darkness and twists. And now I know that my ultimate dinner party would be an epic, creative and unforgettable dining experience like 200 Club. As my readers you’ll know that I love creative cooking, but this event has got me positively giddy with excitement. I want to be there now. I want every other meal I eat for the rest of my life to pale in comparison to the epic day of eating. I want to then tell my friends about it until they’re bored and confused.
This impressive event is on for one day only on September 3rd and 4th with very limited space and tickets (only on sale until August 31st!). If 24 hours of eating is too hardcore for you, you can choose a course or two with the sampling experience – but the bold among you will yearn to sample tasting plates of food in the dreamlike state that unrest brings and go for the whole decadent experience.
