Tesco’s dietary and lifestyle filters allow you to filter your product search online or on their app into categories such as vegan, vegetarian, paleo, low-fat, no-gluten and many more, making it easier to find the foods to suit you.
It can be difficult shopping online with dietary requirements, can’t it? Reading all the ingredients lists can take some time. I should know, I’ve been doing it for many years!
Luckily, Tesco’s dietary and lifestyle filters allow you to filter your product search online or on their app into categories such as vegan, vegetarian, paleo, low-fat, no-gluten and many more. The filters make online shopping far quicker by just showing suitable foods so you can make the right choices.
It’s really simple to use the dietary and lifestyle filters both on the Tesco groceries app and online at Tesco.com.
They have a wide range of filters:
• Low sugar
• Low salt
To use the filters on Tesco.com simply click on any category, then click on the Lifestyle & Dietary button to access the menu of dietary and lifestyle categories.
Presto, you get a list of categories that will filter out any products that aren’t suitable for you, both from Tesco own brand products, as well as other brands. Using the filters on the app is very similar. I was able to do my online shop much faster, since I only had to look at products relevant to me.
Obviously if you’re allergic or severely intolerant you still need to be vigilant and check labels, particularly as food is often reformulated, but for me as a vegetarian I loved that it narrowed the myriad results to only products that are suitable for me.
This filtering technology even won Tesco the 2018 Retail Week Awards Customer Innovation award with Spoon Guru (the tech behind the filters), for its work to help customers with specific diets and tastes find the right food online, quickly and easily.
I found the Tesco lifestyle and dietary requirement filter really quick and easy to use, both online and via the Tesco Groceries app. It was great to know that I could trust that everything I was shown after filtering was suitable, without having to spend time reading ingredients lists.
The filter is really useful and they have such a wide range of dietary requirements on it. It would be even better if you were able to select more than one category to filter (ie: vegan and gluten-free or organic and pescatarian), but perhaps that will come in time. For now, it’s saving me loads of time with my regular online shop.
