Riverford have kindly supplied me another one of their fantastic recipe boxes to give away to one lucky winner. You probably know Riverford for their fruit and veg box scheme, where they deliver fresh, organic, seasonal produce straight to your door, but now they also do recipe boxes. I’ve had a few of these boxes now and they’re great.
They have have all you need (right down to little bottles of sauces and portions of herbs), including their fantastic organic produce, along with step-by-step recipe cards so that you can easily create delicious dishes at home. The boxes change weekly and come with three meals for two (I’ve found the portions to be very generous) and you can sign up for regular boxes, or just order one-off boxes. So far all of the recipes have been easy to create, but bursting with flavour and make the most of season produce.
You choose the box that suits you, it is delivered free in reusable packaging with cold packs so it can be left outside your door if you’re out, and, with the step-by-step instructions you can make a delicious organic meal with minimal fuss. The vegetarian box costs £33.95, while the quick and original boxes (which both contain meat) each cost £39.95. All are organic. Riverford says: No waste. No missing the vital ingredient. All you have to do is cook.
Riverford often have guest chefs contribute recipes for their boxes and I was lucky enough to try out this week’s boxes by the amazing Anna Jones. You will surely have heard about this amazing veggie chef and her recent chart-topping vegetarian cookbooks: A Modern Way to Eat and A Modern Way to Cook. Anna Jones says about her partnership with Riverford: “I am absolutely thrilled to be working with Riverford, I have been eating their delicious fruit & veg for years. The recipe boxes are all about how I like to cook and eat. We all lead busy lives and for me it’s so important that we end our day with a flavour packed, nourishing, vegetable centred meal that’s not too fussy. Riverford’s recipe boxes offer exactly that. Riverford shares my passion for good-quality food that will make you feel good”.
Anna Jone’s Riverford recipe boxes contained everything I needed to make Puy Lentil and Sweet Potato Pie, Beetroot Curry with Spiked Cottage Cheese and a Warm Salad of Roasted Kale, Coconut and Tomatoes. As a massive fan of hers I was thrilled to see the contents of my box.
